Beta Season 1: everything you need to enter Ranked
Ten weeks, strict entry requirements and an eight-game calibration. The mode demands patience before your first ranked game even starts.
Deadlock's first competitive season runs through October 7th, roughly ten weeks. Getting in means clearing three gates.
Sixty Standard Mode wins. Not sixty games — sixty wins. That's the global entry threshold, and for many casual players it means several weeks of play.
Fifteen wins per hero, on at least three heroes. Ranked only allows characters you genuinely know. A three-hero roster is the minimum to queue — which prevents learning a character in competitive play, but also limits your options if one of them gets banned.
No active sanctions on the account: low priority, comms restrictions, any block closes the door.
Once in, eight calibration games set your starting rank, with a partial reset of your history. You cannot exit calibration above Oracle VI, and parties are barred during that phase.
After that, Ranked is solo or duo only, with at most one rank of difference between teammates. Valve acknowledges the restriction is severe and says it's willing to loosen it.
