Deadlock’s major update: you called it, it was Tuesday

The poll is closed: City Never Sleeps came out on Tuesday, September 29 at 1:25 pm Pacific, and 86% of you had called that day. A look back at the clues that gave it away.

It's this week. Yoshi wrote it on the official Discord: Valve is "planning on releasing the major content update early next week". And when a player asked whether that meant Monday, he answered: "no".

It's Monday. So, your call: which day?

Poll: which day do you think the major update drops? Monday to Sunday, or later if Valve delays it.

The rules

One vote per person, and you can change it until release. Each day that goes by without a patch closes to votes. As soon as the update is live, the poll closes on its own and the right day shows up in green. Days count in Valve's time zone, Bellevue, Pacific time: a patch posted on Tuesday afternoon in Bellevue is a Tuesday patch, even if it is already Wednesday in Europe.

Yes, Monday is on the list. Yoshi said no, but you are allowed not to believe him.

The clues

Big updates do not follow the Thursday rhythm of routine patches. Of the last five, three came out early in the week: the Winter Visual Update on a Tuesday, the map rework on a Tuesday, Six New Heroes on a Monday. The other two, the shop rework and Old Gods, New Blood, on a Thursday.

The time barely moves. All five came out in the Bellevue afternoon, between 12:33 and 2:56 pm, that is between 12:30 and 3 pm Pacific, 19:30 to 22:00 UTC this week. Median: 1:42 pm. If the update ships on Tuesday, Tuesday afternoon Pacific is when to watch.

The signal to look for: a new build. None has shipped since Friday's 6701, the one that added three servers in Europe. We read the game files every thirty minutes, and the patch will be classified here within an hour of its release.

Why this poll

For the fun of betting, first. And because a vote is a deliberate click: it will tell us how many of you are really behind the screen, bots excluded. We will publish the result along with the patch analysis.

Result. The City Never Sleeps update came out on Tuesday, September 29 at 1:25 pm Pacific: 938 of 1,094 voters (86%) had called Tuesday, 124 Wednesday. The whole update in detail: our City Never Sleeps article, linked in the sources.

Methodology. Yoshi's messages recorded on September 25, 2026 on the official Discord. Release days and times: posting time of the Steam patch note of each named major update since October 2024, taken from our patch database and converted to Bellevue time. Poll: one vote per person, recognized by an encrypted fingerprint of their IP address, which is never stored in clear; bots cannot vote.
